Yard Waste Program Begins March 15

Yard Waste Program

Collection Begins March 15
Due to the unseasonably mild weather we experienced this winter, the SWANCC Transfer Station that the Village delivers seasonal yard waste to is opening two weeks early this year. As a result the Village will begin collecting yard waste this month. Yard waste may be placed curbside for collection, either as part of a Yard Waste subscription or with a sticker, beginning Wednesday, March 15.

Program Details

Yard Waste Subscription: Yard waste subscribers may place up to four cans, bags or bundles of landscape waste material at the curb each week on Wednesdays through mid-December. The non-refundable annual subscription fee of $126 is included on your quarterly Village utility bill and does not require yard waste stickers. To subscribe, use this form or contact the Finance Department at (847) 835-4113.

Stickers: Residents not subscribing to the annual yard waste collection subscription service, must affix stickers to each biodegradable paper yard waste bag, garbage can no larger than 44-gallons, or bundle of branches/brush. Stickers may be purchased at the Village Hall or Grand Food Center for $2.25 each. While the cost of stickers increased from $2 to $2.25 this year, old stickers will still be accepted.
