Holiday Lights Recycling
In partnership with the Solid Waste Agency of Northern Cook County (SWANCC), the Village offers a holiday lights recycling program. Drop off old, unwanted string lights at the Public Works Service Building (320 Hazel Avenue), Monday-Friday from 8 a.m.-4:30 p.m., through April 1.

Accepted materials include: mini-lights (Italian lights), C7 and C9 lights, rope lights, LED lights and extension cords. All colors and lengths are accepted. Garland, live greens, wreaths or other non-recyclables, however, are not accepted.

Holiday Tree Collection
On Wednesdays during the month of January, Lakeshore Recycling Systems will pick-up holiday trees at no cost. To participate, remove all lights, ornaments and garland and place your tree at the parkway behind the curb.

After January 31, there will be a $30 charge per tree collected.
